Rage of Angels
Someone promised, long ago, an angel I would come to know (maybe human, maybe no), would help me through my darkest hours. Months that passed with silent cries seemed to make that promise lies; still I looked for angels’ eyes even in my longest hours. Then a thought occurred to me: if not life – machinery? Could it be, my poetry brought its own angelic powers? Now it seems I wrote my dreams, self created; now it seems angels, by my cries and screams came to raise me to their towers. Some years on, those powers rested, now I see the towers nested, stacked like building blocks, and tested. Since you came: the brightened hours, like the rage of angels, shining all my hopes past undermining. All my dreams I’m here defining: A rage of angels, endless powers.
